Stacia Woods - IFBB Physique Pro

My name is Stacia Woods. I am an IFBB professional women’s physique athlete. I began competing in 2012 where I competed in figure. After I realized how quickly I built muscle, I switched to Women’s Physique and fell in love. Posing is my absolute favorite thing about the sport. It really is an art form. I went on to compete in National Level shows from 2013-2015. I earned my IFBB pro card in 2015 at NPC Nationals in Miami where I won the overall in Women’s Physique. Soon after, I became pregnant with my daughter and gave birth in September of 2016.

I then decided to start training for my IFBB Pro debut and also my “comeback” after pregnancy. I competed in the St. Louis Pro in 2018. I was so honored to share the stage with many other IFBB pros that I have looked up to over the years. The ladies in my class were very nice and I enjoyed getting to chat with these ladies back stage. After finals, all of the Pro WPD ladies met up back stage for a dessert pot luck. Everyone brought their favorite dessert and we sat in a circle and stuffed our faces! Despite being opponents, we shared this special moment and the comradery is something I will always cherish.

During my off season, I normally eat a good amount of lean protein, healthy carbs and healthy fats. I also like to add in “normal” foods to keep the balance. When contest prep starts, I will transition to a carb cycling type of meal plan. I slowly cut calories over time to help prevent plateaus and adaptation. I have been lucky enough to have amazing coaches along the way, so every meal plan I have had has worked for me.

A lot of people ask me how I get the confidence to pose on stage in front of hundreds of people. Well, this is my motivation! Knowing I am getting in front of people to show off my hard work and be judged by a panel of judges is what motivates me to stay on track! When show day arrives, I know I did everything in my power to create my best physique. Knowing this makes me proud; it makes me proud to “strut my stuff” and show off what I have worked so hard for.

I work out 5 days a week. I really enjoy my rest days. J I normally hit legs twice a week. However, back is my favorite training day. I dislike arms because it can be rather boring. I place carbs in the meals around my workout to help with energy and recovery.

My life is forever changed because of this sport. Not only have I learned how to change my physique, but I have learned how to love my physique every step of the way. I have made lifelong friends. I have been able to share my knowledge and experiences with my online coaching clients. I have been able to meet people from all over the world. I do not know what the future holds for me. I do plan on competing in 2020 and bringing my best physique to date!
