Jade Joselyn - Bikini Competitor

I was inspired by my friend Susie Woffenden as she prepped for the WBFF worlds. Susie was so passionate and dedicated it made me want to start my own journey. I grew up doing beauty pageants and I really missed being on the stage. I decided to marry my passion of fitness and my experience on stage and prep for my first show.
My diet doesnít drastically change throughout the year. Coming closer to a competition my food has to be a lot stricter in terms of weighing and I try to cut out sauces and sweeteners. When not prepping for a show I do enjoy going out for dinner but I always try and make healthy choices.

There is no one diet that works for everyone so it's important to eat the right amount of food for what you are doing. Someone who gyms twice a day will have to eat more than someone who gyms twice a week. Also things like gender and weight have a lot to play in how much you should be eating. When dieting down for a show you will naturally have to eat less than if you are training and trying to gain muscle. It's important to still eat enough to fuel your workouts and stay healthy.

I am fortunate enough to have worked with my coach from day one so I have always felt in safe hands! When not working with a coach and on a meal plan I like to flexible diet and track macros. This means I can make sure I am still eating enough but can enjoy different foods and the occasional treat. For my prep I eat mostly whole foods (one ingredient foods) vs processed.

I have always loved the stage coming from a competitive dance background it was just the posing I needed to practice. It's important to believe in yourself and not to be afraid to ask for help. The industry has so many passionate talented people who can help get you to where you need to be.

Both training and diet go hand in hand and you canít have one without the other! I lift 4 times a week and have one full rest day. I like to do LISS cardio 5-6 days a week. I eat 5 small meals a day and after a weight session I like to have a protein shake. These also help with my sweet tooth!

I have the WBFF London show in 2 weeks which I am so excited about. I canít wait to step on stage and compete with some incredible athletes. I have big dreams and would love to step on the worlds stage in a years time. I am enjoying sharing my journey on instagram and youtube and would love for you to join me @JadeJoselyn.
