1. Tell us about yourself and how long have you been powerlifting?

My name is Chakera Holcomb. I've been powerlifting for nine years. I started lifting when I was 13 years old.

2. How did you get into it?

I had some bad things happen to me growing up, and started to lifting, to insure, no one would ever hurt me again.

3. What are your best lifts?

Squat:562, bench:352, and deadlift 584 @181lbs.

4. What is your lifting technique like and how did you develop it?

My lifting technique is not where I want it, but through consistency, dedication, and focus, my technique continues to get better.

5. How do you utilize your diet as a way to maintain your weight while increasing strength?

Nutrition is the biggest factor in my lifting. By properly fueling and hydrating my body for pre and post workouts, I continue to increase in strength. My favorite foods include: turkey, chicken, pasta, and all veggies.

6. What is your caloric intake?

I don't count calories; I just eat healthy foods. Please describe your daily/weekly training. I weight lift 4 days out of the week and cardio 3 days out the week. I don't focus on one muscle; instead, I focus on developing every muscle in body.

7. How do you monitor your strength building process in squat, bench and deadlift?

I believe in volume training. I monitor my strength through repetition.

8. Which lift is easier for you, and why?

Deadlift, I've always enjoying picking up heavy weight and sitting it down.

9. Tell us about some of your most memorable moments in powerlifting so far.

Setting three all Time World records and becoming the strongest 181lbs Raw Female lifter. Also, achieving a 601 wilks.

10. How do you successfully grow your mental strength in addition to physical strength?

I take everything that I've been through and apply it to the weights. The main challenges and/obstacles I face during training is dealing with the ins and outs of everyday life. Choosing to not allow my surround to determine my density, and Also, giving God all the glory in my success.

11. What do you like doing away from powerlifting?

Coach and study.

12. What is your favorite motto/quote in life?

Philippians 4:13.

13. Future goals?

Becoming the strongest female powerlifter in the world.
