Yasmin Anders - Fitness Competitor
I have never been an athlete. But I workout since I was 16y/o. Always liked eating healthy. I am a lawyer and I own a second language school in Birmingham-AL. I am married and I have 2 kids. One 5 and the other 7 y/o. My husband is an MMA fighter so it helps a lot for my preparation. I have never been a gifted kid in sports and I think fitness competitions are very fair because you can start at any age. It only demands discipline and dedication and any person can make it! When I decided to compete there was no doubt on my mind I would do WBFF because it's the only competition that considers beauty, fashion and fitness in one show.
Off season I usually eat very healthy and now that I am cutting the diet gets very strict. I have low to zero carb days, and the days I am allowed to eat carbs it's only sweet potato. I ingest a lot of fat and protein. Fat only coming from coconut oil, cashews nuts and Omega 3. It's my first competition and so far everything is going as expected.
Building self-confidence: I am still building it. The hardest part for me is to walk on high heels and pose. So I am learning from Debbie Bramwell. She has more than 20 years experience in bodybuilding and she really knows what she's doing. She was the pioneer in the state of Alabama doing it. I'm really glad I found her to help me with that.
I work. I am a wife and mom, so it's very hard to have time for everything. But I workout everyday and do moderate cardio too.
Future show: I hope I will have one May 13th. It will be my first competition in Houston, TX. So far I can say the other girls competing that I had contact with are really nice and I hope we have a good atmosphere for the day. My future plan is to get my pro card. Only 1st place gets the pro card so I'll work hard for that and possibly go to the Worlds in London UK.
