Samantha Marie - Fitness Journey

I have always struggled with a happy, healthy medium regarding weight and body structure all of my life. My weight has fluctuated up and down for years. I did workout all the time but I was never doing a consistent program or programs that were yielding the results I was looking for. I found Beachbody, specifically P90X before I got married approximately around 6 years ago. I did that prior to my wedding and was amazed at my results!

Fast forward a year, I became pregnant with my son. During my pregnancy, I gained over 65 lbs. When I gave birth, I was 220 lbs. I had a lot of work to do! I went back to Beachbody and their programs (P90X, P90X3, Insanity Max, 21 Day Fix Extreme, Body Beast, Hammer and Chisel, and more) and really focused in on consistency, strength training, core conditioning and nutrition. I became a Health and Fitness Coach for Beachbody as well as a Certified P90X and Insanity Group and Private Fitness Instructor. In the last 4 and a half years, I have lost OVER 85 lbs. I have defined and shredded my muscles more than I ever thought I could and I have become a health and fitness inspiration and motivator, helping hundreds of other people achieve their goals, throughout my own journey.



DIETING. I don't like to consider myself as "on a diet" because I feel like diets are fads. However, my eating patterns are as follows. I am an Intermittent Faster. I eat for 8 hours of the day only, and fast for the other 16 hours. During my window of eating, I will eat 2 big meals and one small snack. My first meal is at 11 and my last meal is at 7. In addition, I follow a strict Paleo eating pattern. This means, no dairy, no grains, no beans, no rice, no sweets, no sweeteners, no artificial flavorings, and some carbs. My eating pattern consists very much of fresh fruits and veggies, fresh meats, and I am very big on sweet potatoes....sometimes I eat red potatoes too! I drink over 100 oz of water a day. I drink bullet proof coffee with coconut oil, I drink Beachbody shakeology everyday as well as an all natural protein drink with BCAAs, and every night before bed I drink hot water with lemon. As an added extra bonus, I take one shot of apple cider vinegar every morning. I am very consistent with my eating patterns.

FAILED EATING HABITS. I have tried going all vegetarian and vegan. I have tried the Atkins diet. I have tried the lemon and cayenne pepper cleanse. And I have tried weight watchers. NOTHING has ever worked as well as clean eating and Paleo; and more so, Intermittent Fasting.

PROGRAMS. The majority of what I do and teach is HIIT, high intensity interval as well as Max interval training. The HIIT is a full body combination of cardio, strength training with weights and core work. The Max interval training is very cardio driven, with some agility and coordination mixed in; as well as strength and stability and plyometrics but using your body weight as your equipment only. I do focus a lot on my abs as well.

CONFIDENCE. So as I mentioned, I have never been on stage in a competition but I have been very open, out there and honest on many forms of social media...which is like the biggest stage ever! LOL. I built my confidence in posting the pictures that I do, by simply continuing to post! I forced myself to show my hard work. To be a product of my product. And to prove to other people that I practice what I preach day in and day out. The negative comments only fueled me more! They made me push harder and gain more confidence because they way I viewed the negative comments was that, those people weren't hating me, they were just hating that I was a reflection of what they wanted to be. And that made me want to be better.

FUTURE. To keep inspiring, motivating, and helping change not only my life but the lives of others. I want to get better, faster, stronger, more shredded! Simply put, I want to keep killin' it! :-)
