Nora Reynoso - PNBA Pro

I started competing at the age of 40 because of course my metabolism slow down I was going through some depression, my mother had just passed away and it was a turning point in my life. It was either staying where I was or do something about it, so I decided to hire a coach to lose weight and not only did I lose 30 pounds in six weeks by following her plan but I competed and won a overall title. I took a break after that about a year and then again I was going through some issues in my life and training got me back on track , working out has definitely been a positive influence in my life that has opened many doors.

I've tried several different meal plans in the last five years that I have competed. I started competing in 2012, from extreme dieting a very minimal calories high-protein low-carb's and some veggies today my diet has changed tremendously I am a vegetarian and my diet and prepping consist of proteins like egg whites, hemp protein, Pea protein so all plant-based proteins. When I'm prepping I eat plant-based protein and all the veggies I want very low carbs / 5 to 7 meals a day when I'm prepping first meal will consist of some carbs like oatmeal and my third meal will also consist of some carbs, The rest of my meals are all plant-based protein and veggies.

Obviously some plans have failed for example last year in 2015 I went to the extreme of consuming around 200 g of meat protein a day and ended up in the hospital for excessive protein that my body cannot digest and it up in the emergency room on morphine for several hours until they figured out what was going on. So definitely trial and error and this is the main reason why I ended up being a vegetarian, The acid levels in my body or extreme and my whole overlook on being a fit is to be fit for life not short-term or for just a competition.

When I'm prepping the training consist of six days a week around an hour and a half to two hours a day usually about 20 minutes of cardio 5 to 7 sets of weights and to finish off abs / The last couple of weeks I incorporate two workouts a day so I split them up and increase cardio to up to 30 mins.

Going onstage for me has been the easy part I love inspiring others I am turning 45 in December I'm a mother of a 26-year-old and a 20-year-old and a beautiful granddaughter that's eight so inspiring them and becoming a role model for them and others has been the fire that makes me keep doing it.

I've been definitely blessed because I love the organization I compete with that competed with other organizations when I first started but became a pro at the natural bodybuilding association last year. Represented the United States in Budapest hungry at worlds championships and brought home the gold definitely no complaints. In my career of competing in the last five years I've brought home 21 metals 19 of them being first place my thoughts have always been if this grandmother can do it anybody can do it it's just put your mind body and soul into it.

I'm honored to be able to represent the United States next year in the world championships and defend my title in Italy June 2017. Also this year I was able to do more than just competing I was able to promote for Shows for the natural bodybuilding association which it's definitely my passion to be able to give back to the athlete knowing exactly what walk there walking. My plans are to continue the organization to grow and make it better for the athlete overall, The 20 year anniversary for the organization is next year so I will also be doing the natural Olympia in Cancun November 2017.
